The new Panton Duo, exclusively in Paris:Sete
Designed by Verner Panton in 1959, Panton is one of the most recognized design classics for its sculptural shape and unforgettable silhouette. Having been developed in 1967 in collaboration with Vitra, it was the first plastic chair to be produced in a single piece and with a cantilever seat. Vitra is now launching the limited edition Panton Duo, available in five contrasting color combinations. Created in cooperation with the Panton family, the chair with two colors - one at the front and one at the back - is limited to 999 units and is identified with an edition label.
The Panton Duo is a tribute to the work of Verner Panton, who used color to accentuate shapes, patterns and emotions. Inspired by the tones used by the designer in Visiona 2, an installation developed in 1970 for the furniture fair in Cologne, the chair revives some of his favorite colors, a vibrant rainbow of green, blue, purple, pink, red and orange. The line that divides the tone of the front and back of the lacquered chair highlights the unique shape of the Panton Duo, making it a unique piece to collect.
Paris:Sete is Vitra's exclusive partner in Portugal, displaying a set of these chairs in its store in Lisbon. Come and discover Panton Duo at Largo Vitorino Damásio 2C, 1200-872 Lisbon.
