Bonnet, uma mesa com dimensão tátil

Bonnet, a table with a tactile dimension

Bonnet is a family of tables designed by Marialaura Irvine for MDF Italia. Available in various shapes, from classic rectangular to asymmetric, this family of tables can be combined in different ways, creating unexpected compositions. Finished in Coccioperla (a mixture of mortar, aggregates and crushed mother-of-pearl), Bonnet tables have a unique personality, where the tactile dimension plays a fundamental role.

"For twenty years, the precision and mechanical beauty of MDF's products have enriched my daily family life. Design known for its technical and bold perfection - masculine and, at times, austere. In my journey with MDF, I sought to introduce a softer tone to this rigor, an approach I call 'soft pop' or 'radical whisper'. This is how we challenge industrial norms, subtly guiding them towards evolution.
Our collaboration culminated in the creation of Bonnet, a distinct family of tables that does more than simply fill a space - it transforms it. Bonnet represents a new form of conviviality, a "tavolo democratico", where there is no head, promoting a democratic arrangement that encourages open dialogue and shared experiences.
This asymmetrical system of tables can be configured in unexpected ways, fostering new dynamics of social interaction and collective sharing. Each Bonnet table whispers a strong personality, promising not only to complement the space, but to redefine the very way we gather around it."
