Living Coral: Chosen Color of the Year 2019

"Living Coral", also known as Pantone 16-1546, has been named color of the year 2019. Described as "buoyant, vibrant and effervescent", it is predicted to influence the design industry over the next 12 months.

Following on from 2018's Ultra Violet color, this vibrant shade of golden orange reflects the "innate need for optimism and the search for joy" as a response to the technological and digital world.

"In reaction to the technological attack and the fact that social networks are gaining more and more space in daily life, we are looking for authentic and immersive experiences that allow connection and intimacy" explained Pantone.

“Color is a lens through which we experience natural and digital realities, and that is true for Living Coral,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.
