Stacked Modular Shelving System
Muuto's Stacked bookshelf can be configured in countless ways.
Muuto's popular shelving series, Stacked, was born from the desire to combine a unique yet practical design style. The extremely adaptable system that also encourages creativity is the work of architect and designer Julien de Smedt.
This modular storage system made up of modules that can be stacked to create a ceiling-high bookcase, a side table for support, or a sideboard to store your vinyl records, was designed to be infinitely expandable and easily changed.
”Design should always have a characteristic expression while serving an obvious function. I found that shelving systems often only fulfilled one of the two and from there grew the idea for Stacke d” , - Julien de Smedt
Stacked offers storage space not only for books, but also for decorative pieces.
Modules can be stacked on the floor, on a podium or mounted on the wall.
Stacked modules can adapt to suit a variety of aesthetic preferences. They can be created for storage solutions, geometrically uniform and asymmetrical with different colors. The modules are attached to each other using metalclips .
Stacked effortlessly adapts to constantly changing situations and environments. The modules are easy to transport and rearrange, as if they were Lego pieces. They can be stacked on the floor, on a podium or the modules with back panels can be fixed to the wall.
"I wanted to design a shelving system of modules in three sizes that can be arranged and rearranged in any way you'd like, making for a unique storage solution" , says Smedt.
Stacked is great for kids' rooms, and remember, you can always rearrange it.
The collection includes a total of 34 modules, of different sizes, colors and finishes. In addition to open models, there are also modules with back panels and doors. Color selection includes oak, white, gray and light gray.
Since its launch in 2008, Stacked has been an “ambassador” for Nordic design around the world for over a decade.
