This winter, Vitra takes us into the homes of two Berlin-based artists: Nata Lee Hahn converted an old car workshop into a loft for her family, while Kitty Kahane lives in an old apartment decorated with a carefully curated selection of objects and her own artwork. Both homes express the individual personality of each, mixing collectible pieces with timeless furniture.

"This space was built 100 years ago as a factory. Then, it was used as a car workshop. When I first passed by, it didn't even have windows; it was dark, dilapidated, and sad. But when I saw the large open space inside, my imagination ran wild. After initially wanting to use it as my studio, I realised it would be the perfect family home."

"I moved here in 1995 and immediately fell in love. The layout was different initially, with a series of small rooms. We did the interior renovation ourselves. I love large spaces; I need them for my work. We combine the old with the new; I've always acquired beautiful and high-quality furniture, much of it vintage."
