A Flos na casa da dupla Scheltens & Abbenes

Flos at the home of the duo Scheltens & Abbenes

Artists Maurice Scheltens and Liesbeth Abbenes are well-versed in the world of design, having been responsible for some of the most iconic product photographs for international brands like Arper or Vitra. The brilliant use of colour, geometric shapes, and intricate compositions of objects are some of the ingredients that make up their images and highlight the details of the photographed subjects.

Flos challenged the duo Scheltens & Abbenes to portray some of their most emblematic lamps in the duo's Dutch home, a converted warehouse in Amsterdam. In this eclectic space, which is also their work environment, the artists framed the Italian brand's lighting among the objects and nooks that mark their daily lives.

"We have known Flos for a long time and have enormous respect for the timeless lamps they produce. We would not be able to work with a brand if its products did not align with our sense of quality and aesthetics. We looked at the objects in detail, trying to discover what they hide in their shapes and colours. For each photoshoot, we start from scratch and create infinite variations. Experimentation is at the core of our usual way of working. It can be said that our way of working is aligned with Flos's ambition – to reinvent the notion of lighting, again and again."
