A inovadora Catifa Carta

The innovative Catifa Carta

Created in 2001 by the Lievore Altherr Molina studio, the Catifa chair is one of Arper's greatest icons and a piece that revolutionized furniture design at the turn of the millennium. Since then, the family of chairs has undergone several evolutions, with the addition of models that adapt to the new needs of home and work spaces.

Now, the Italian brand has reinterpreted it once again, presenting the Catifa Carta, a revolutionary chair with a seat produced from paper. Through its commitment to innovation, Arper uses this new wood-derived material, combining sustainability with the chair's unmistakable double-curved silhouette. Drastically reducing the environmental impact of its production, the Catifa Carta's PaperShell shell is made of 29 layers of Kraft paper joined with a natural resin, which at the end of its life cycle (which is expected to be long due to the quality Arper has accustomed us to) can be transformed into biochar.

"This chair not only marks a triumph in design but is also a step on our journey towards a more sustainable future."
Roberto Monti, CEO of Arper
