O relançamento de um clássico

The re-release of a classic

"Why don't we make an updated version of the old English club chair?" With this question, Charles Eames began the development of the Lounge Chair, a process that took several years. The goal was to fulfill the desire to create an armchair that combined extreme comfort with quality materials and excellent production methods. The armchair designed in 1956 by Charles & Ray Eames raised the standard of its time: it was not only lighter, more elegant, and more modern than conventional club chairs, but also more comfortable. Due to these qualities, the Lounge Chair became one of Charles & Ray Eames' most recognized creations and achieved classic status in the history of modern design.

The iconic armchair is now relaunched with Nubia fabric upholstery, as an alternative to leather. In the version with soft bouclé fabric, which contains 30% virgin wool, the Lounge Chair takes on an even more domestic and welcoming appearance. The new Vitra armchair can be found at Paris:Sete.
