Visita ao estúdio de Marc Morro

A visit to Marc Morro's studio

Join us on a visit to the studio of Marc Morro, the creator of the Taburete 8 bar stool, one of Hay's latest additions. Based in Barcelona, the designer originally from Mallorca explores a work philosophy based on the honesty of materials and bringing objects to their essence. "I'm interested in exploring archetypes, where a chair is a chair and a table is a table," he explains.

This objectivity is reflected in the name of his first product designed for Hay: 'taburete', 'stool' in Castilian Spanish. The number 8 refers to the number of prototypes developed until the final version was achieved. Using only two materials – painted steel and plywood – the Taburete 8 presents great simplicity, yet possesses details that make it a unique and appealing product.

"I like the idea of making something with very little: a balance between efficiency and comfort."

The metal frame, available in four colours (red, beige, green, and black) is produced with square and round section tubes, while the oak veneer seat gives the stool a welcoming appearance.
