Vitra's Resting Bear is a friendly and adorable creature with a knitted surface. In addition to being a decorative piece, the Resting Bear functions as a bench, an ottoman, a backrest or multifunctional children's furniture.
Designed by Swedish group Front for Vitra, Resting Animals are characterized by a sleepy, smiling feel and thoughtful design. The collection resulted from a research project in which Front asked people to name some of their most emotionally enriching and meaningful objects - the majority of responses were animal figurines. In his previous work, Front observed animal sleep and hibernation. Resting Animals combines these two themes into visually pleasing objects that surround each other with experiences of joy, tranquility and companionship.
