The Kaari collection was born in 2015 from the first creative encounter between the Finnish brand Artek and French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The result is a collection that combines simplicity, innovation, and structural sophistication, reinterpreting the legacy of Nordic design through a clearly contemporary approach.
"Kaari" means "arch" in Finnish — a detail that immediately reveals the essence of the collection. The central element is an elegant curved steel band that embraces the solid wood structure, creating a support system that is simultaneously light and robust. Like an architectural arch, this metal piece offers diagonal stability, while the wood supports the vertical load.

Inspired by Artek's tradition and Alvar Aalto's experiments with curved wood, the Kaari collection features a fluid and minimalist visual language. The lines seem to be drawn in a single continuous gesture, giving the furniture a subtle yet striking graphic presence.
At the heart of the collection stands the Kaari table: a contemporary, versatile, and timeless piece. Its oak pillars are supported by the iconic metal band, creating a perfect balance between robustness and visual lightness. Available in different finishes, it easily adapts to both residential and public spaces.

More than a piece of furniture, Kaari represents an intelligent exploration of the combination of materials. Solid wood and steel come together in an innovative constructive system that allows for multiple configurations: small or large tables, round or rectangular, low or high, as well as shelves and suspended solutions.
With Kaari, the Bouroullec brothers create a collection where engineering transforms into visual poetry: functional, durable, and profoundly contemporary.
